Counsel in Concert: A Celebration of the Magna Carta took place on Tuesday 15 December at St Andrew’s on the Terrace in Wellington. both performances attracted large audiences – the biggest the organisation had ever had – with the lead characters wearing costumes and legal VIPs including judges from the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and the Solicitor General taking three surprise cameo roles during the performance. The programme included The Ballad of Magna Carta by Kurt Weill, Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, Ode to Joy and more.
The choir consists entirely of lawyers and the orchestra is half lawyers and half professional players from the NZSO and Orchestra Wellington.
