The earliest printing of Magna Carta in New Zealand, now in the collection of the University of Canterbury, was displayed in Christchurch around the time of the anniversary and for an exhibition in December to coincide with the NZ Historical Association conference (2-4 December). The small book is a lawyer’s text from Henry VIII’s reign printed by the King’s Printer, Thomas Berthelet. Contact: Dr Chris Jones at Canterbury University.
